Lost Pet Recovery — Free Community Alerts & QR Tags (Coming Soon)

When a beloved pet goes missing, every minute counts. ILS Recovery Bureau offers a free community alert board that reaches your local neighborhood, and QR pet tags (coming soon) that let finders contact you without seeing your contact details.

How QR Pet Tags Will Work (Coming Soon)

  1. Attach a waterproof QR tag to your pet's collar alongside their ID tag.
  2. If your pet is found by a stranger, they scan the QR code with their phone camera — no app required.
  3. You get an email alert, with the scan location if the finder shares it.
  4. A secure private message thread opens so you can coordinate the return.

Post a Free Lost Pet Alert

Even without a QR tag, post to the ILS Lost & Found Board. Your listing appears on the community map and board, reaching local people who may have seen your pet.

Tips for Finding a Lost Pet

Why QR Tags Are Better Than a Phone Number Tag

A phone number tag only works if the finder can call you. A QR tag can share the scan location (if the finder allows it), works internationally, allows the finder to message you without sharing either party's phone number, and never becomes outdated when you change your number.

Frequently Asked Questions

My pet has a microchip — do I still need a QR tag?

Microchips require a scanner at a vet or shelter. Most ordinary people who find a pet won't have access to a scanner. A QR tag lets any smartphone user contact you — they work together as a layered recovery system.

Is the lost pet alert free?

Yes. Every account includes one free active listing on the Lost & Found Board. You can post a pet alert at no cost.
